OUR COMMUNITY

Arrival and departure -
Punctuality is extremely important. The school day commences with assembly at which all the children must be present. All should arrive at school 5 minutes before the bell rings for assembly. We realise that unavoidable circumstances may delay you occasionally but we request you to make sincere efforts to be punctual. However frequent late comers are obliged to return home. If the child is going to be late kindly inform us and in the event that you are early, kindly wait with your child till we are ready to receive him or her. If the student is late for an unforeseen reason the guardian is requested to fill in the reason on the page provided for this in the school diary. If you know you are going to be late to pick up your child kindly contact us in advance. Please do not park in front of the gate and cause traffic jams. We are situated in a residential colony and must show consideration for the neighbourhood. After pickup parents and guardians are responsible
for their children in the school premises. Always keep them by your side and never allow them to run ahead, especially out of the gate.

Absence -
If a student is absent a letter must be sent to the principal and a note of information to the class teacher also. For a long period
of absence due to illness a medical certificate must be submitted. A student returning after illness due to infectious disease must
produce a clearance certificate from a qualified doctor. If a    child becomes unwell   after coming to school     his / her term care.
We must be able to reach a parent any time during the course of the school day and therefore request you to keep the    child's
information form up to date with current mobile and contact addresses. Regular attendance is extremely important for a    child's
development. Although every child works in his or her own pace, consistency is a key factor. Irregularity affects the child's routine
and comfort level at school.

Clothing -
Children are expected to come to school in a freshly laundered uniform with clean socks and polished shoes. Kindly do not send your child to school wearing expensive jewellery such as gold chains or dangling earrings, we are not responsible for the care of such items. Personal belongings e.g. Tiffin's, water bottles, sweaters, jackets, scarf and bags which are brought to school should have the child's name written clearly on them. A basket is kept near the main entrance for 'lost and found' objects. Items that are not claimed for more than 3 weeks are kept as extras or donated to people in need.

Snacks –
Every floor has a snack corner where children can have their Tiffins. We encourage healthy eating and request parents not to send junk food and creamy cakes to school. Healthy options are recommended.

Parent's Teacher interaction -
A spirit of cooperation and meaningful interaction between the parents and the school is extremely important. They are like links of chains that must move in synchronicity and are all in the same side- the side of the child. We value meaningful communication with our parents. While we do organise specific times for such communications twice a year. Parents are welcomed to ask questions and discuss anything concerning their child when or if the need arises. However we request u to make appointments so that we can give you our fullest attention. Just like parents may request a meeting, school teachers may also schedule additional meetings if necessary.

Class placement or promotion -
Examinations are held twice in a session, First Term in the month of August, and Second Term in the month of February. With regard to promotion, the decision of the school authorities will be finale and will not be reconsidered. The individual child's emotional, social and academic development, learning style and temperament are considered while such decisions are made. In some instances, circumstances may require the Principal or academic staff to plan a schedule for a particular child which is different to the usual routine. This would be discussed with the parents in relation to the individual child and planned accordingly. Children who are not able to present themselves at any tests will be obliged to forgo that particular test since the school does not make provision for holding tests for individual students either before or after the examination. Except for genuine reasons of health, parents should see that their children do not absent themselves from the examination. Any student who fails to take two examinations will not be considered for promotion. After every exam, a progress report will be sent to the parents which they are expected to sign and return to the class teacher. Undue delay in returning the report card to the class teacher will call for an genuine explanation from the parents.A minimum attendance of 95% of the total no of working days is also a must for the promotion.Any student who happens to fail twice in the same class will be obliged to leave the school.

Issuing of certificates –
Twenty four hours notice in the form of written application should be given to the office of the issuing of any certificate. Certificates are issued
during the working hours only on class days and that to after verifying that all dues are clear.

Child / Staff privacy –
We keep personal information like residential address and telephone nos of students and our staff confidential respecting their and their family's privacy.

Environmental materials –
Sometimes a child finds the toys and other materials in the school very attractive that it gets invited home!
Should this happens please return them the following day.
